Arsenal® Super Herbicide and Basta® Non- Selective Herbicide

Arsenal® Super Herbicide and Basta® Non- Selective Herbicide

The Dynamic Duo for Weed Control

The use of glyphosate products has decreased over time, driven by weed resistance and the need to explore new options that meet the expectations of the public and local operational standards.

An ideal chemical combination from BASF exists for these scenarios: glufosinate-ammonium and imazapyr. Basta, a non-selective herbicide, is a Group 10 product with an active constituent of 200 g/L glufosinate-ammonium. A soluble liquid (SL) formulation, Basta is registered for the control of over 80 weed species across a wide range of crops. It is particularly effective against some of the most damaging and hard-to-control weeds in horticulture, such as Primocane and sucker control.

Arsenal Super is a Group 2 herbicide with an active constituent of 240 g/L imazapyr, present as the isopropylamine. It is a soluble concentrate (SC) formulation that is effective for standing weeds and emerging seedlings keeping a very wide range of grass and broadleaf weeds controlled for up to six months along fence lines, firebreaks, irrigation channels, rights of way, roadside verges and railways.

As stand-alone options, both products deliver results that far exceed any glyphosate comparisons.

In combination, a tank mix of Basta and Arsenal Super offers labour and time-saving efficiencies reducing the burden of weed maintenance. A robust application of the rapid-acting, knockdown nature of Basta, combined with the residual persistence of Arsenal Super, can effectively clean up a weed-infested area and keep it clear for up to 6-months.

The performance of R&D technologies surpasses that of their generic counterparts. Efficacy trials comparing BASF Basta Herbicide (glufosinate-ammonium) to generic glufosinate products at the equivalent rates confirms significant differences in weed control. For unmatched performance and reliability management teams can confidently lean on BASF technologies Arsenal Super and Basta Herbicides.

As resistance to glyphosate increases, both Arsenal Super and Basta serve as alternative active ingredients that deliver superior results. In addition to time and labour efficiencies, this dynamic duo provides an innovative and effective weed management solution to management teams who have otherwise relied upon, and been challenged by, glyphosate technologies.
